Chat Room Web Cams
This help article includes information on working and viewing the web cams in the chat room.
Activating your web cam
To activate your web cam in the chat room, mouse click on the webcam icon in the top left hand side box. Your computer will ask whether you want to 'Allow' or 'Deny' the request to turn your web cam on. Mouse click 'Allow' to proceed with the process.
Unable to click 'Allow'
If you find that you are unable to mouse click 'Allow', this may be because you are using Opera as your web browser or your operating system is Linux. If this is the case, you will need to configure the settings in this page below:
Flash Player Settings
In the Flash Player Settings, mouse click onto us.chat.fxxy.net from the list and then change the permission to 'Always Allow'.
After setting this, once you've returned to the chat room, you won't need to click 'Allow'.
Clicking to turn your web cam on doesn't work
The web cams in the chat room uses Abode Flash Player which you will need to have installed on your computer otherwise you won't be able to use it. You can download this software for free through the link below:

Simply follow the on screen instructions to download Flash Player and the installation - you may need to close and re-open your web browser for the installation to take effect.
Viewing the users who are watching your web cam
In the top right box of the chat room, you will see an option to see who currently has their web cam turned on in the 'Live Cams' tab but if you mouse click on the 'Watchers' tab, you can see which members in the rooms that you are in are watching your web cam.
You cannot see any web cams

Configuring your own web cam if your web cam is not working
If you find when turning on your web cam it does not show or you have a new web cam that is not working, you will need to configure the settings in the chat room to point it to your web cam.
Windows users
- Start watching another person's web cam in the chat room.
- On the feed that you are watching, right mouse click on it.
- This will open a menu. Mouse click 'Settings'.
- Mouse click the web cam icon.
- Use the drop down menu in the settings to locate your current web cam device.
Mac users
- Start watching another person's web cam in the chat room.
- On the feed that you are watching, press your 'Ctrl' key and mouse click on it.
- This will open a menu. Mouse click 'Settings'.
- Mouse click the web cam icon.
- Use the drop down menu in the settings to locate your current web cam device (most Mac's webcam devices are shown as USB Video Class USB).
Unable to connect to the video service
If you are unable to connect to the video service, there may be a firewall on your system that is blocking the connection.
